Boys' Entrance's alter-ego is BOWIE'S ENTRANCE and this is Vol. 3 in a series that began in 2019. This is the band's first release post-Covid, and is significant given lead singer, Tim Cain and Bassist/12 string guitarist, Billy Ramsey both suffered for two years with Long Covid. Ramsey nearly died of complications. But survived they have, and perhaps thrived, they have. These 4 songs represent a huge musical leap forward. The addition of sax on three of the tracks has broadened their palette sonically. It has deepened the connection to Bowie as well, given the saxophone was a signature of the Master. BE newcomer, Eddie Guion swings his sax with just the right jazz swagger. He also contributes organ to "All the Young Dudes".
Tim Cain feared the worst from two years of coughing from his bout of Covid, but his baritone vocals evoke Bowie the same way he did on Vol. 1 & 2- three years earlier. His keyboard treatments move these classics into new territory.
Keith Otten's lead guitars continue to delight as he interprets (or channels) Mick Ronson on Moonage Daydream and Suffragette City.
The rhythm section of John Spinelli (founder of Spinelli Drums) and Billy Ramsey anchor these tracks and provide a solid foundation that swings.
